Yes, yes, we have all heard of seasons. The rainy season, snowy season, even the holiday season. Yet, how much were we taught about the spiritual significance and biblical proof concerning them? Well, you gon' learn today!
Leviticus 23:1-2, 4 KJVS
And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts. [4] These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.
The Most High God ordained feast and holy convocations that we are to keep and observe. However, there are stipulations regarding these feast and the manner in which they are to be observed. One of those stipulations, if not, the central key to unlocking your understanding of all of them, is found in verse four, “which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.” That denotes a specific time period in which these things can or rather, should be observed. The day may change; Tuesday, Wednesday. Even the date as we know it; September 12th, October 8th, etc. But what should remain consistent is the season. And for that we have tools to help us identify those seasons.
Psalm 104:19 KJV
He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
Remember the ordinances; sun, moon, and stars. The sun helps to understand when a day ends and begins. But the moon is more pivotal (along with the stars and thus constellations) to help us identify seasons. As you will learn (if you continue to follow this series) that the moon identifies the month. The stars can both guide us along with the seasonal patterns that rotate consistently.
Genesis 8:22 KJVS
While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
We see the earth is still here. And since it has been here, so have the four seasons. Now that does not mean that wherever you are they are equal, no, only that they exist on the earth but will vary in degree of intensity. But each of these seasons will be signified by a trademarked attribute. Winter we have cold, summer heat etc. And these changes will also affect other things in nature, weather patterns, plants and animals.
Song of Solomon 2:11-12 KJVS
For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; [12] The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;
We see here that a key attribute of winter is rain. Not to say that this is the sole attribute as we read earlier winter is also associated with cold. This just adds to the changes that we can use empirical evidence to dissect. Also note the transition. After winter and the rainy season, we have spring and the season of the birds and the bees as temperatures warm and flowers bloom.
Sirach 50:8 KJVA
And as the flower of roses in the spring of the year, as lilies by the rivers of waters, and as the branches of the frankincense tree in the time of summer:
Thus, spring is in the air and the earth is again refreshed to begin the cycle anew.
