This walk is not always easy. It is filled with challenges and adversities. But through it all we cannot allow the pains of today to distract us from the blessings of tomorrow.

Proverbs 24:10 KJV

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

If we faint during the time of challenges in our life our strength is small. I want us to take a closer look at the definition of “faint” using the Strong’s Concordance and then Dictionary.com:

A primitive root; to slacken (in many {applications} literally or figuratively): - {abate} {cease} {consume} draw [toward {evening]} {fail} (be) {faint} be (wax) {feeble} {forsake} {idle} {leave} let alone ({go} {down}) (be) {slack} {stay} be {still} be {slothful} (be) weak (-en). See H7495 .

Faint

  • to lose consciousness temporarily.

  • to lose brightness.

  • Archaic.

    to grow weak; lose spirit or courage.

When you study the word faint. You will find that it can be subject to a limiting of ones self or a ceasing all together. But limiting, not in a way of wisdom per se. But rather out of fear, or distraction. As when one faints, one is in a state of unconsciousness. They are no longer active, no longer alert. They are unaware; they are asleep. Not a situation you want to be in spiritually.

Luke 18:1 KJV

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

If you are getting weak in the faith. Due to adversity, or maybe a vice you are struggling with, you must take time to pray and add to prayer fasting if the problem persist. As you don’t want your light diminishing. Less you fall away as a result. And that may not always look the same in every scenario.

Revelation 2:3-5 KJVS

And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. [4] Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. [5] Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

See, you may remain focused on the ministry at large. Doing the works of a teacher, or evangelist, or apostle. But you may begin to loose sight of how you are moving doing it. You may give some good lessons but begin falling away from the execution of such principles in your day to day life. Losing sight of maintaining and applying righteousness.

2 Corinthians 4:1 KJVS

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

We have to understand that we are in a privileged position. The Most High God called us out of the world and gave us grace and mercy to repent and change for him. Now we have to show our thankfulness by taking part in his ministry and finding a role to play to help him (which really is helping us) by spreading the word across as many platforms as we can. So that every one hears the true doctrine of the scriptures.

Matthew 24:14 KJV

And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

2 Esdras 6:9 KJVA

For Esau is the end of the world, and Jacob is the beginning of it that followeth.

How can the end come if the word is not preached? It can’t! This must stand at the epicenter of your “why” in the reasoning of doing all you can to further the spread of the ministry. We labor to spread the word so that this world may end and the next may begin. As Israel must repent but in order to repent they need to know; they need to be aware. And how can they know if no one shows or teaches them? It’s a cycle. One that we play a pivotal role in making sure continues. And you must know that your efforts matter. God put you where you needed to be to reach who you need to reach.

Galatians 6:9 KJVS

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

It may not feel as if people are listening or learning. You may not have views or even members the way you may feel is good. But if at the end of the day all you did was save you and your family, you did well. Did not Noah do the same? Yet, he didn’t stop. He kept building knowing what God said would ultimately happen. We have to have the same mind in us. Knowing most people will not repent or change. So you are rooting for the underdog anyway.

Galatians 6:7 KJVS

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
